In the Mountaineers we like to simplify the cooking we do on extended trips.  The trips are limited to eight paddlers and split into groups of two (frequently, but not always, husbands and wives).  Assuming 6 days on the water and 5 nights, each couple is responsible for one nights cooking and the fifth evening is potluck.  We draw names from a hat to determine which couple cooks on which night.  Imagine.  You only have to cook on 1.2 nights and only have to come up with ONE IDEA FOR A MEAL!

We do all of our cooking on a 2-burner propane stove and carry along a large cook pot that's usually filled to the top.....and bone dry when we're through eating!
